众所周知，TIIS是悉尼翻译学院的姊妹学院，也在澳大利亚悉尼。悉尼翻译学院能够成为国际中文通用翻译能力测试在澳大利亚的考点，对此我们感到非常高兴。我们同样也是本次中国国际少儿英语能力测试的联合主办方之一。我们期待在澳大利亚当地推广和实施考试和赛事。
中国是澳大利亚最大的贸易伙伴。近年来，中澳之间建立全面战略伙伴关系，双方在各领域的交流与合作达到了前所未有的深度和广度。这些发展成果依靠的是紧密的国际交流。这些国际交流依赖于翻译人才的语言知识技能和文化理解，尤其是少年，他们是人才资源的重要储备力量，代表着中澳两国友好交流的未来。
2022年将是中国与澳大利亚建交50周年，两国的友好交往也将翻开新的一页。中国国际少儿英语能力测试的举办，将为跨越国际传播的语言壁垒，架设中澳民间沟通的新桥梁发挥重要作用。
现在，我们有责任吸引更多的年轻人参与国际交流，让国际交流更加富有成效。少年将为中澳两国增进交流创造更加美好的未来。

Hello! My name is Dr. Michael Seamer, and I am the deputy CEO of the Institute of International Studies in Sydney, Australia.
TIIS, as we all know, is the sister organization of the Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating, again in Sydney, Australia. We are very excited that the Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating has been chosen as the test center for the Chinese Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters, International (CATTI International). And we will be one of the co-hosts of the China International English Examination for Children, CEC. We are looking forward to devoting ourselves to the promotion and organization of the test.
Now China serves as the Australia’s largest trading partner. And recent years has witnessed the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership between our two countries, with unprecedented breadth and depth of bilateral exchanges and cooperation across many fields. Now all of these achievements have relied on the importance of close global communication. And those global communications are based on and depend upon the skill and knowledge of language and cultural understanding of those people involved in the interpretation and translation process. In particular, it is the youth that represent the important pool of talents and the future of friendship between our two sides.
The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, ushering in the new chapter of friendly exchanges between our two countries. Conducting the CEC test will play an important role in breaking down the language barriers in our international communications to build a new bridge of people-to-people exchange.
Now it is our responsibility to attract as many young people as possible to participate in the program to ensure that our international communication exchange is as productive as possible. It is the young people that will build a bright future for our bilateral arrangements.
